Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse First Look Trailer

It is a great time to be a Spider-Man fan right now. Everywhere you look, we’re getting some awesome reveals for upcoming Spider-Man projects!

We are a few weeks away now from the release of the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home but it doesn’t stop there. This weekend was Brazil Comic-Con and we were given our first official look at another highly anticipated Spider-man project, the sequel to Into the Spider Verse! The new movie titled Spider-Man: Across The Spider Verse Part One, broker the internet when we was given our first official teaser for the highly anticipated sequel and it looks A-maz-Ing!

Check out the official teaser trailer below:

Man, this is exactly what a teaser trailer should be!

The teaser doesn’t give anything away but shows an interaction between Spider-Gwen (reprised by Hailee Steinfeld) along with an older Miles Morales (being reprised by Shameik Moore), as it seems like the multiverse is calling upon them once again. It was cool to see that there’s been some time difference from 2018’s Into The Spider Verse and it’s not just a straight continuation. Gwen has had an adjustment to her design with the longer hair and slight changes to her suit, which looks so cool and Miles has grown a few year since the first film. Will be interesting to see if his reputation as Spider-Man has increased as well. We then get to see Miles travelling through space and time into a different universe which looks visually stunning. The colour and art styles are truly in a league of their own and this animation style really is leagues apart from other studios. Plus the music is equally as important as the visual look, the soundtrack from Into The Spider Verse was so important as it worked so well with what was unfolding on screen. Then in the final moments of the trailer we get to see the appearance of Miguel O’Hara AKA Spider-Man 2099 and looks like him and Miles are going to battle it out. Ever since the post-credits scene at the end of Into The Spider Verse, we knew that Spider-Man 2099 would be making an appearance but it looks like he and Miles could be enemies in the film, which is a cool idea in itself!

The trailer then ends with the title Spider-Man: Across The Spider Verse (Part One) and it is scheduled for a release date of 7th October 2022 with the second part aimed for a 2023 release. With the story, it was so big that they decided to split it into two parts with another film in the series coming after part two. I am 100% okay with this, as I’d rather them split it over two parts than cramming it all into a 2/3 hour film as it gives them more time and story to flesh out. I’m super stoked about this film as I thought Into The Spider-Verse was one of the greatest superhero movies of all time and is definitely up there as the greatest Spider-Man movie in my opinion. I loved everything about it and I can’t wait to see what they do for Miles’s second big screen adventure. It’s unclear if any of the different Spider-Man characters from the first movie will return, but we know for definite that Gwen Stacy will return.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will see the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen as well as Oscar Isaac returning to voice Miguel O’Hara/ Spider-Man 2099.
