Black Lightning – First Look Trailer

Earlier on today we were treated to a first look teaser trailer for The CW’s newest and upcoming superhero series “Black Lightning”.

The upcoming series is based on the DC character who was created by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden. The premise of the show is centered around Jefferson Pierce, played by Cress Williams, who hung up the mantle of Black Lightning some years ago. In the show his daughter, Jennifer, seems to have got in to the wrong crowd in her search for justice. With Jefferson finding out about his daughter, it forces him to come out of retirement and once again take up the mantle of Black Lightning. The series will be made through Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions, both associated with Warner Bros. Television.

Arrow S05 E22 – “Missing” Review

Holy shit! Arrow’s Season 5 has really upped its game this year and has become such a strong series once again this year.

The thing I love about Arrow is the the run up towards the end of each season it has this epic scale feel to it. In previous season’s this is the point where there has been a massive attack to topple Star City, but I really like how it has been changed up this year. I really think that Season 5 has brought a breathe of fresh air to the Arrowverse. This time there’s not major weapon or plot to destroy Star City. The theme running throughout the season is that this time it’s more of a personal conflict between two rivals….Oliver Queen the Green Arrow and Adrian Chase Prometheus! It’s going to be a feud that will end in a jaw dropping way. I mean shit…episode 22 of Arrow’s fifth season was just incredible, had me on the edge of my seat and everything about it was a brilliant build up to what is going to be an explosive and action packed season finale!

The Flash S03 E21 – “Cause and Effect” Review

The Flash has become a very different show to when it first started out especially in this third season. This season is particular has been a lot darker than what we’re used to since the show began, which is down to the way in which Barry Allen has really made a habit of changing his and the lives of everyone around him. Since the actions of Flashpoint, things have been very different in Central City which has led the Scarlet Speedster up to his current predicament in this battle with Savitar. So far this season we have seen the effects of Flashpoint take a massive impact on Team Flash with Cisco’s brother dying, Caitlin becoming Killer Frost, the battle with the Dominators, Wally beginning to doubt himself and the massive blow being the birth and creation of Savitar.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Review

“Showtime A-Holes!”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has definitely been an ever-growing collection of films and this year saw the launch of it’s “Phase 3” initiative of movies. The one I have been looking forward to the most is James Gunn’s Guardian’s of the Galaxy Vol 2.

I was a massive fan of the first Guardian’s and when I knew a sequel was on the way, to say I was stoked would be an understatement! I personally think that the sequel was much better than it’s predecessor as the stories within the film felt more developed, giving us more of an insight into each of the Guardian’s. The film itself turned out to be an action filled, roller coaster of laughs and emotional moments which captured the heart and soul of the director’s vision.

Horizon Zero Dawn – First Impressions

As a huge gamer, 2017 has given us some of the biggest and most highly anticipated titles on console and it’s only the early part of the year.  For me one of the titles I was early looking forward to is Horizon Zero Dawn, developed by Guerrilla Games which is a PS4 exclusive. I have only just got around to playing the game myself so I’m just giving a brief review of my thoughts so far on the game. Horizon Zero Dawn is an action-RPG game that features a very unique and interesting story-line. I’m just going to talk briefly on what I think of the game so far.

I think first and foremost the graphics of this game are absolutely amazing, you cannot fault the attention to detail in the game. I’ve only been playing for about a day or so now but when you’re running around the world I can’t help but take in how realistic the settings are. The landscape of the wilderness is just amazing and does remind me of Far Cry and the Uncharted games in parts. I think this game was designed with character interaction and integration as a top priority, as the character expressions are just so accurate to real life.

Heroes and Villains Fan Fest – London

Next month on 27th and 28th May I will be attending Heroes and Villains Fan Fest London, held at the Olympia convention center, which will be my first time attending this convention. This is event is arranged by the same organisers who are responsible for the ever growing Walker Stalker Convention, which is dedicated to The Walking Dead.

So what is Heroes and Villains Fan Fest you ask? The event itself provides fans for an intimate and personal experience with actors and actresses from some of your favourite television show and movies. The main attraction for this event is to meet cast from Arrow, as I believe the convention was formed by Stephen Amell, as well as actors from others hows such as The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Gotham; plus there are actors from movies that appear as well. The Heroes and Villains/ Walker Stalker Convention website has the slogan “It’s not just fandom, it’s a family”, which makes it feel like more than just your average Comic Con. I have never attended this event so it’s going to be a brand new experience for me and I am super stoked for this one. Talking to other fans who have attended it they have all stressed that it has been the best convention they have been to and that’s saying something. I think what this event represents that it is a unique opportunity to really get up close and personal with celebrities that you love from on screen, giving you the chance to hang out with them.

The Flash S03 E19 Review – “The Once and Future Flash”

the-flash-the-once-and-future-flash-photo004-1492806470054_1280w.jpgOkay so anyone who knows me will realise that I am a massive fan of the CW shows such as Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. I have been a fan of these shows since Arrow kicked off this whole “Arrowverse” back in 2012 as I think this shared universe is so amazing and is some of the best superhero writing on TV right now. The only issue I have with these shows are the long breaks, I mean seriously these networks like to hang us out to dry!

This week saw episode 19 of both The Flash and Arrow return after a long four week break so naturally I was stoked to have my favourite shows back! Tuesday saw the return of the Scarlet Speedster and I was so looking forward to diving into the later part of The Flash’s third season. When I saw the trailer during the break showing that Barry Allen would be travelling to the future I was so excited, as well as the fact that Mr. Tom Cavanagh would be directing this episode as well I had a slight nerd-gasm!

Before I dive into this episode like The Flash runs through the Speed Force, here’s your pre-review warning….
